This site is the top level host for several Amateur Telescope Making and Astronomy Web sites. Currently, four Web sites are hosted. In the future, additional sites will be hosted, though all will continue to be related solely to Astronomy and Amateur Telescope Making.
The ATM's workshop is a Web site containing tutorials, tips and techniques of use to the amateur telescope maker. There are a number of articles describing the fabrication methods involved in making telescope optics. Reviews of some of the tools useful to the ATM may also be found on the site.
The ATM's Workbench site is a placeholder for software written by John Upton for use by amateur telescope makers. One software program, Ronchi for Windows has been publicly released for use by ATMs everywhere. The other programs have not yet been released as they are not up to the robust standards required for general use. They may someday be rewritten to add the error detection and correction code generally required for widespread use by other ATMs.
The Williamson County Astronomy Club operates in Williamson County, Texas. A small club, the members are quite active in visual astronomy and public outreach.
